Story of Her Journey
Born in Florida and raised along the beaches of Virginia,
La’Portia J. Perkins a.k.a Mama P is the definition of interdisciplinary innovation and inclusive abstract art. As a multi-medium artist, poet, rapper, and natural resource scientist she combines nature, spirit, art, and kindness in every aspect of her creations and written works.
La’ Portia holds a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology with a minor in Environmental Science and Policy from Clemson University and an M.S. in Forestry & Forest Products from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
She has released several singles, features, and now 2 extended plays E.A.R.T.H and Garden. Mama P continues to develop written poetry, paintings, videos, natural journals, and other pieces in her daily life.
